I"ve always had a tiny confusion in ~ the wording. Room there straightforward to remember rule to understand when the hatchet "turn" is applied and how.

You are watching: How long is a turn in dnd 5e

A round is 6 seconds, a revolve is 1 minute. A turn is also your ar in the round...right? therefore if it claims you have the right to do a details action once a revolve does it typical once in a minute the combat or once in 6 secs of combat. Or if her poisoned it rotates the end of the following turn is that your following round, or the next full game revolve which might likely be till after combat is over. Thanks

MM

They are not used precisely interchangeably, as much as i know.

A revolve is one entity"s revolve within a round (which is the amount of time for everyone associated to have actually one turn).

So, "it lasts because that one round" method until the next time that initiative comes up.

And "that creature"s turn" is the duration within which that creature"s actions take place within the round.

...if that makes sense? I"m not sure I can define it properly.

In effect, "everyone take away turns, till a round about the table is done."
